The SmackDown Women’s Championship scene over the past few months has been a headline thing whilst Charlotte and Becky Lynch have been fighting over The Championship and pushing it back into focus above all other Championships on the blue brand.

Since Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch are now focused on the Raw Women’s Championship and Ronda Rousey, the SmackDown Women’s Championship picture has instead focused on Asuka and Carmella in recent weeks.

It appears that Carmella and Asuka are not the only women in the Championship picture at present favored since Sonya Deville recently stated on Twitter that she has defeated both Charlotte and Naomi in recent weeks so she deserves a shot at that Championship.

This week on SmackDown Live, Carmella, Becky Lynch, Charlotte and Asuka had their own meeting surrounding the Women’s Championship and it appears that Deville wanted to be part of this meeting because of her recent wins.

Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose have been slowly climbing the ranks in WWE over the past few years ever since they debuted as part of Absolution.

Whilst Rose has gained a lot of attention throughout the course of her SmackDown career and most recently was said to have been on Vince McMahon’s favored list, it appears that Deville has been forgotten.

Deville came through the ranks in Tough Enough and much like Ronda Rousey she has a background in MMA, even though hers is much more modest.

The former NXT star has spent a lot of time working on her craft in recent years and is now able to step forward and be counted and heading into the second Women’s Royal Rumble, this is a good statement for Deville to make.
