NXT&#8217;s most recent batch of tapings took place last night live from Full Sail University and included one of the most shocking heel turns in recent memory.



The rumor mill has stated that Shayna Baszler and Adam Cole are the next two stars to be called up to the main roster following SummerSlam in August and it appears that NXT could be preparing the Women&#8217;s Division for storylines without their current Women&#8217;s Champion.

Last night&#8217;s tapings saw Shayna Baszler take on Io Shirai inside a steel cage and once again her friend Candice LeRae was there to help her overcome the odds. The difference this time was the fact that Shirai lost the match and turned on the one person that has had her back over the past few weeks.

Shirai&#8217;s heel turn was definitely a hit with the crowd since Mrs. Johnny Wrestling was the best person for The Genius of the Sky to decide to turn on.

This leaves a number of questions heading into NXT Takeover: Toronto since Baszler still has the NXT Women&#8217;s Championship and now there is a feud brewing between Shirai and LeRae.

It is currently unknown who will challenge the former MMA star for the Championship in August, but the belief now is that it could become a triple threat match between all three of the main women in this storyline, but a triple threat would mean that Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir could become involved and take advantage of the no-disqualification rule.



This turn will definitely change up the title picture over the next few weeks, and it will set the tone for NXT without Baszler because a new Women&#8217;s Champion will need to be crowned before Baszler is called up to the main roster.
