Wrestling fan and occasional wrestler, actor Stephen Amell was injured on the set of his latest project, a professional wrestling drama called “Heels”.
Deadline is reporting that Amell is recovering from a back injury that he sustained during the shooting on the show’s Atlanta set.
Heels, which is set to air on Starz is said to be a story about the men and women who chase their dreams in the world of small-town pro wrestling.
Amell is playing one of two brothers who clash over the direction of their family-owned wrestling promotion. Amell is Jake Spade, an in-ring heel, while Alexander Ludwig will play his younger brother Ace Spade who is the in-ring babyface.
“While performing a stunt on the set of Heels this week, Stephen Amell sustained an injury to his back,” said a Starz spokesperson about the incident.
“Following a medical evaluation, he is now resting and recovering at home in anticipation of his return to set,” they continued, adding that production will not be affected.
This isn’t the only incident of Amell having “health problems” recently. He revealed on October 20 that he had a positive COVID-19 test and was required to quarantine before returning to the Heels set.
