Angelico and Jack Evans, who tagged together in AAA in Mexico, have signed on with AEW.
The two were known as Los Gueros del Cielo in AAA where they competed from 2013 to 2016. While they were there, they held the promotions tag team championships three times. Their three title reigns amounted to a combined 567 days.
News of their signing with AEW was released by Angelico himself in a video he posted on his Twitter.
While the video initially sounds like he is announcing his retirement, he’s actually talking about a new chapter in both his and Evan’s careers.
AEW has a talent sharing partnership with AAA. Currently, the AEW signed Young Bucks who are AAA’s tag team champions and are in a feud with the Lucha Bros. Angelico and Evans could be the next challengers for those titles.
