The Bella Twins made their WWE debut on August 29, 10 years ago.

Technically it was Brianna a.k.a. Brie who made her WWE in-ring debut on the August 29 episode of SmackDown in 2008. However, her real-life twin sister Nikki would be present in all her matches underneath the ring.

In each match, Brie would roll out of the ring and go underneath it, and would come out appearing revived as she would then go on to win the match. This used to be the scenario till October 31, 2008 where it was made clear that a second person was beneath the ring and the following week on SmackDown, Nicole was pulled out and introduced as Nikki Bella.

The Bella Twins had their first official match as a team on November 21, 2008 on SmackDown, where they defeated Victoria and Natalya in tag team action.

On August 29, 2018, WWE shared a video on social media that shows Brie reacting to her in-ring debut 10 years later.

In these 10 years, The Bellas have seen, gone through and accomplished a lot in WWE. Brie became a one time WWE Divas Champion while Nikki cemented herself as a 2-time and longest individual reigning WWE Divas Champion.

The twins have also won the prestigious Slammy Awards thrice and stood as Diva of the Year in 2013. Amidst all this, the twins also had a heated rivalry between them (kayfabe) that led to a long feud featuring the two sisters.

Nikki and Brie are now pop-culture celebrities with their widely successful show “Total Bellas”.

On RAW 25 (January 22, 2018), the twins were honored as part of a segment involving women considered legends that contributed to the company’s success, including Maryse, Kelly Kelly, Lilian Garcia, Torrie Wilson, Michelle McCool, Terri Runnels, Maria Kanellis and Hall of Famers Jacqueline and Trish Stratus.

Nikki and Brie participated in the inaugural Women’s Royal Rumble Match back on January 28 and recently returned at SummerSlam to celebrate Ronda Rousey’s first title win in WWE.

Brie and her real-life husband Daniel Bryan are currently scheduled to face real-life couple The Miz and Maryse at September’s Hell in a Cell pay-per-view.

The Bella Twins are set to make their televised in-ring return next week on Monday Night RAW.

Nikki is expected to be part of WWE Evolution on October 28. It is being rumored that she will face RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey at the first all-women WWE pay-per-view event.
