It was revealed back in 2016 that current SmackDown General Manager Paige was having a film made about her that would star The Rock, Lena Headey, and Florence Pugh and finally the trailer for the movie has been released.
The film was originally set to be released back in 2017 but given the issues that surrounded Paige at the time, the filming was halted and the release date was then pushed back. The trailer was released worldwide today and documents Paige’s life as she adapts to being the only daughter from a wrestling family and being handed the chance to become a WWE superstar.
Paige has been wrestling since she was a child and was then chosen to become a WWE star over her brother, whom she has always been close to. She then found it much harder when she came to WWE because she stood out more than any other woman in the Performance Centre.
Paige’s life was the subject of a documentary back in 2012 and has now been made into a worldwide film because her story is definitely on that is worth telling.
Even though Paige is now retired from the ring, she has managed to overcome so much to become the first ever NXT Women’s Champion, the youngest ever Divas Champion and the first ever female wrestler to have a movie made about her life.
The current release date for the movie is March 2019 and by the looks of the following trailer, it’s going to be a high grossing movie, since it comes across as a comedy that keeps in the most important decisions Paige had to make and obstacles she had to overcome.
