The John Cena-Nikki Bella Split: Former Pair “Basically Back Together”, ‘Their Commitment Is Stronger Than Ever’

16-ime World Champion, John Cena broke up with his ex-fiancée and longest reigning individual WWE Divas Champion, Nikki Bella, ending their 6 years long relationship in the middle of April this year and the former couple had been making headlines ever since.

The breakup which came about in a very public fashion was also speculated by many to be a publicity stunt for ratings for the new season of Total Bellas. However, with plenty of people having already tuned into Sunday’s Total Bellas to catch how the relationship had begun to fall apart, it seems like the show has much more drama in store for fans which could be unfolding in real life.

“They’re basically back together,” a source recently told PEOPLE. “This was never really about ending their relationship— it was about calling off a wedding because something didn’t feel right,” the source says. “It was a wedding that was entered into under false pretenses. She was pretending she was okay with not having a kid, he was pretending he absolutely couldn’t and wouldn’t budge on that point.”

On Saturday, 34-year old Bella and 41-year old Cena were spotted together for the first time in public since their split.

“They both got a wake-up call once they canceled the wedding, and they both realized they could fix what was broken,” the source explained.

Last week, Cena and Bella publicly disclosed their mutual desire to get back together. Cena expressed his intentions to marry Bella and have kids with her while Nikki addressed the pro-wrestler as the love of her life. US Weekly had earlier reported that the duo had been spending nights together.

“They never stopped talking,” the source added. “Other than the actual wedding weekend, when they took some space, they have been talking. He has poured his heart out to her, and she was more than ready to take him back once she heard what she needed to hear…He’s been saying and doing all the right things.”
