The Miz Talks About Being a “Good Guy” On The Jimmy Kimmel Show

The Miz appeared on the Jimmy Kimmel show last night in order to promote Miz and Mrs, the reality show featuring Miz and his wife, Maryse. Miz talked about several things, including his career graph in WWE. His stay as the “villain” for a long time, and how he has finally become the good guy in WWE.

The Miz debuted in WWE in 2006, and sniffed around the upper-card for a long time before finally getting a big break in 2011. He won the WWE Championship and defended it in the main-event of WrestleMania. Miz, is a part of an elite club of current superstars who can boast of main-eventing the biggest WWE show of the year.

The Miz has done some of the best work in his career as a heel, and turned face in Summer last year, when his show first debuted on USA Network. Miz talked about how the birth of this daughter helped him switch over from the dark side, and his character from Miz & Mrs helps him identify with the fans in a better way.

“For the past 13 years, I have been a villain. I’ve been egotistical, arrogant, cocky, evil if you will. Now, with Miz and Mrs. coming along, I’ve turned into a good guy. People know Mike Mizanin now on my show and they look at me and they go, ‘Oh, we like him.”

Miz went on to plug SummerSlam and talked about his canceled match-up with Dolph Ziggler. He maintained kayfabe during this bit and went on to talk about how Goldberg could be wrestling at his last SummerSlam and that’s why he let Goldberg face Ziggler at SummerSlam by tricking Ziggler into signing the contract.

The Miz said he will indeed be at SummerSlam in some capacity, as he is currently not advertised for any match at the PPV. He assured Kimmel and the fans that he will indeed make some impact on the PPV.
