This week on RAW, WWE had a match that managed to hook people for over an hour, something they have really struggled to do the last year as the ratings have been on a bit of a slide.
The match in question is the Gauntlet Match which featured all seven superstars who will be part of the RAW Elimination Chamber match this Sunday on the WWE Network. John Cena, Elias, Roman Reigns, Finn Balor, The Miz, Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman put on one hell of a show that had most of the arena on their feet and rocking for the majority of the match.
Seth Rollins was the star of this match and actually set a new WWE record. He lasted over an hour in the ring which is the most amount of time any wrestler has been in a match on RAW. One of the coolest things about this performance was the way the crowd got more and more on Seth Rollins side as it went on, they knew they were witnessing a very special performance and while Seth Rollins is already part of the main event crew, this match had to have further cemented that in people’s minds backstage.
It is hard to think of another performance as impressive as this one in recent years. Elias getting the cheap elimination of Seth Rollins seemed to take the wind out of the fans, but to be fair. This along with Braun Strowman winning the match sets things up very nicely for this Sundays PPV. It is so hard to pick a winner of this match and that is when wrestling is at its best!
