Simone Johnson may only be 17-years-old, but the oldest daughter of WWE legend The Rock has already stated that she has the desire to follow in her father’s footsteps as soon as she’s finished her education.
At just 16-years-old, Simone told The Hollywood Reporter last year that this was a business that she wanted to become involved in.
“It’s a sport that is unlike anything else in the world. There’s just a certain amount of passion that every move and match requires, and that’s so admirable. It’s definitely something I’ve thought about and want to pursue.”
It was recently revealed by Zelina Vega as part of her conversation with Lilian Garcia on The Chasing Glory podcast, that Simone was already working at the Performance Center with some of the best trainers that the company has but she’s only there in a part-time capacity.
ProWrestlingSheet later confirmed that this means that WWE is yet to sign her to a contract because she is working her training around her school commitments, but it’s reported that her training will become much more focused and frequent when she graduates.
Her father has always been supportive of the fact that she wants to follow in his footsteps and even stated last year that he believes she will become a future Women’s Champion.
The Women’s Revolution is currently in full swing on WWE TV and it’s hard to see WWE passing the opportunity to allow the daughter of one of their greatest stars to be part of it.
Simone still has a long way to go, but the fact that she’s already getting to grips with the business at such a young age means that she has a long and bright future ahead of her.
