This past week on Monday Night RAW, Roman Reigns was saved by Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose when Braun Strowman attempted to cash in his Money In The Bank contract.
Many fans thought that this was a one-off since Reigns was in trouble and needed the help of his brothers, but it seems that they are set to remain together as a unit for at least the next few months.
According to WrestlingInc, The Shield have been advertised for Australia’s Super Show-Down on October 6th as well as the Monday Night RAW on October 16th where they are scheduled to face the team of Drew McIntyre, Dolph Ziggler and acting Raw General Manager Baron Corbin.
Over the past few weeks, Reigns has had an issue with Baron Corbin and now that Stephanie McMahon has sent Kurt Angle on vacation and given Corbin all of the power on Raw, this could be his time to get revenge.
His feud with Finn Balor has seemingly come to an end after he was defeated again by The Demon at SummerSlam so he could now be set to move into a feud with The Shield. The fact that the General Manager of RAW is now a heel means that it leaves many storyline possibilities for Corbin and The Shield in the coming months.
The fact that the trio is already advertised for Australia’s Super Show-Down means that it’s likely that they will wrestle as a unit at Hell In A Cell next month, even though local advertising already suggests that Roman Reigns will be facing Kevin Owens or Braun Strowman for the Universal Championship.
The most likely scenario is that Braun Strowman will find backup of his own and Hell In A Cell will then be main evented by a six-man tag match which includes The Shield, but this would mean that the Intercontinental Championship and the Universal Championship won’t be defended at the show.
