The Undertaker Reveals Why He Left WCW for WWE

The Undertaker has become one of the most recognizable wrestlers in the world. The former six-time World Champion has boasted a WWE career that has spanned three decades and a WrestleMania streak that will never be matched.

The Deadman announced his retirement from the business back in the summer but it has since been announced that next week’s Survivor Series event will be a celebration of The Undertaker’s career. This is fitting since it marks 30 years since his WWE debut.

Before The Deadman made his way to WWE, he was seen as quite the athlete in WCW, but while appearing on Extraa Dhamaal earlier today, the former WWE star was able to reveal the reason why he left WCW.

“So, when I was in WCW, they basically told me that I was a great athlete but no one would ever pay money to see me wrestle. And I took that as the writing on the wall and that man (Vince McMahon) right there gave me an opportunity to become something.”

It appears that WCW officials were definitely wrong since WWE fans have been paying to see The Deadman wrestle for three decades and continue to do so to this day.
