SmackDown Live last night was lacking a number of stars since the company’s tour of Japan had already begun and the likes of Roman Reigns and Alexa Bliss had already made the trip to the Land of the Rising Sun.

Despite this, SmackDown Live was the setting for the announcement of two more matches for Extreme Rules. Of course, Roman Reigns and Undertaker vs Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre was already announced on Monday Night Raw as well as Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins vs Baron Corbin and Lacey Evans in a “Winners Take All” match for both the Universal Championship and The Raw Women’s Championship.

On SmackDown Live, Nikki Cross battled SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley in the hopes that she could win Alexa Bliss the chance to compete for the Women’s Championship once again at Extreme Rules. Cross cost Bliss the chance to win the Championship back at Stomping Grounds when she distracted Bliss and wanted to get back into Bliss’ good books and managed the win over Bayley last night.

The other match announced as part of the show was the WWE Championship match between Kofi Kingston and Samoa Joe. Joe attacked Kingston on Raw on Monday Night and last night on SmackDown Live, Kingston was able to defeat Dolph Ziggler in a 2 out of 3 falls match which meant that Ziggler had no claim to the title moving forward so WWE then announced that Joe would be challenging the current Champion in less than three weeks time.

Over on 205 Live, Tony Nese was given the opportunity to challenge for the Cruiserweight Championship he lost in a triple threat match alongside Akira Tozawa and Drew Gulak back at Stomping Grounds when he takes on new Champion Gulak for the title on July 14th in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
