SummerSlam is now less than two weeks away and the card is definitely beginning to shape up. There are a number of matches that have already been announced in recent weeks including the huge WrestleMania rematch between Brock Lesnar and Seth Rollins for the Universal Championship.
Ember Moon challenges Bayley for the SmackDown Women’s Championship for the first time, while Finn Balor takes on The Fiend in Bray Wyatt’s first WWE match in over a year, and Kevin Owens puts his career on the line in a match against Shane McMahon where if he loses he will be forced to quit WWE.
Becky Lynch defends her Raw Women’s Championship against long-time friend turned enemy Natalya, while Kofi Kingston takes on his toughest task as WWE Champion since he defends against 13-time Champion Randy Orton.
Last night on Monday Night Raw, the match tally was taken up to seven when it was made official that Ricochet would be challenging AJ Styles for the United States Championship on August 11th.
Another interesting note from last night was that Natalya seemingly challenged Becky Lynch to a submission match at SummerSlam before taking back the challenge and saying that Becky didn’t have the guts to accept her challenge. It’s likely that this will be the stipulation added to their match at The Biggest Party of the Summer, but as of writing, it hasn’t yet officially been announced.
Andrade vs Rey Mysterio is also expected to be added to this year’s show along with Cedric Alexander vs Drew McIntyre and The Usos vs Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows who are now known as The OC and are the current Raw Tag Team Champions.
Charlotte Flair looks set to take on Toronto’s own Trish Stratus as the Hall of Famer makes her return to the ring for the first time since Evolution back in October, in a match that should begin building tonight on SmackDown Live.
