<p>Toni Storm, the former NXT UK Women&#8217;s Champion and SmackDown Superstar, has been released from WWE, according to Fightful. It is being reported that Storm requested her release and has since been granted.</p>

<p>As of writing, it&#8217;s unclear why she requested her release but she was recently on <a href="https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/toni-storm/id1559678933?i=1000546239914" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener nofollow">Ryan Satin’s “Out of Character” podcast</a> where she talked about sitting in catering after being called up to the main roster.</p>

What’s happening?’ Now [when] stuff starts happening, I’m still like, ‘what’s going on?’ Oh, my God. What is my life?&#8221; </p></blockquote>



<p>Storm was recently involved in a feud with the current SmackDown Women&#8217;s Champion Charlotte Flair. She received a title shot last week but <a href="https://wrestlingworld.co/news/toni-storm-comes-up-short-in-her-quest-to-become-wwe-smackdown-womens-champion" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">failed to capture the title from The Queen</a>.</p>



<p>Storm started working with WWE during the inaugural Mae Young Classic in 2017 before signing with the promotion in 2018. She won the 2018 Mae Young Classic and moved to the NXT UK brand where she was a one-time Women&#8217;s Champion.</p>



<p>She made her main roster debut on July 23 with a win over the current Women&#8217;s Tag Team Champion Zelina Vega. </p>
