Tony Khan Calls Himself The “Forbidden Door”, Teases Future Impact Appearances

AEW President Tony Khan paid for another advertisement on this week’s episode of Impact. Alongside AEW commentator Tony Schiavone, Khan appeared on the ad to promote this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite.

Khan made special mention of AEW World Champion Kenny Omega and Executive Vice President Don Callis, who have been instrumental in seeing cross-promotion between the two brands and seem to have pulled a third brand, NJPW, in as well.

The main event for this week’s Dynamite is an example of these cross-promotions, with NJPW’s KENTA teaming with Omega against AEW’s Jon Moxley and Lance Archer.

KENTA being an NJPW talent has had many wrestling fans speculating that the “forbidden door” between American and Japanese wrestling promotions is being opened.

In the ad, however, Khan gave another answer to the questions about the “forbidden door”. According to Khan, he is the forbidden door.

Khan stated that it was him who had to be “open” for other promotions to work with AEW. He also stated that the “forbidden door” swung both ways and, as a result, people could expect to see him on Impact soon.

After Dynamite, the next scheduled cross-promotion event will be on Impact’s No Surrender pay-per-view this Saturday.

AEW tag team Private Party is set to challenge for the Impact World Tag Team championships and Khan’s words imply that he could be in the audience for that.
