Tony Schiavone Nixes Reports of Tony Khan Buying Impact Wrestling

AEW announcer Tony Schiavone stated that AEW Chairman Tony Khan doesn’t plan to purchase Impact Wrestling.

Schiavone has been appearing alongside Khan in a series of “paid advertisements” that have been airing on Tuesday nights during broadcasts of Impact Wrestling.

During the “advertisements” Khan has been emphasizing his status as a wealthy man who can not only buy air time during Impact but could also buy the production if he wanted to.

During the latest AEW Dynamite Post-Show, Schiavone was asked about Khan’s reported claims that he could and would purchase Impact in the future.

“No,” said Schiavone about the reports. Schiavone went on to claim that Khan would be more interested in buying a vintage car.

“He’s going to invest in a 1957 Chevrolet Coupe, which will bring him more money,” added Schiavone.

Even if Khan isn’t interested in “purchasing” the competition, he’s keeping a closer eye on it, actually watching the show this Tuesday.

He appeared in another paid advertisement with Schiavone and with the addition of AEW producer, Jerry Lynn.

Afterward, Khan and Lynn sat ringside as AEW’s Private Party competed to become number 1 contenders for the Impact Tag Team Championships.
