Top International Star Finally Headed To WWE, Another Major Name Under The Radar

It was earlier reported that Mesami Odate, better known by her ring name Io Shirai could be signing a deal with WWE, after losing her first offer in 2017. Tokyo Sports now confirms that the Japanese Wonder Star will be reporting to the WWE Performance Center after her final show with World Wonder Ring Stardom on June 17, 2018.

The rumours of Shirai heading to WWE boiled up when she lost the Wonder of Stardom title on Wednesday but Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that the title change had nothing to do with WWE and Stardom was unaware that Shirai was leaving until Sunday. Shirai is expected to take part in the Mae Young Classic that tapes in August.

It is also reported that WWE has made offers to reigning World of Stardom Champion, Toni Storm. Storm, who works extensively on the European independent circuit, is a former Progress Women’s Champion. Storm is currently under a WWE UK contract.
