WWE is currently the world’s largest wrestling promotion with major global influence expanding to different territories. WWE recently cemented its standing in Saudi Arabia by hosting the first-ever Greatest Royal Rumble and signing a 10-year deal with Saudi General Sports Authority.
WWE is touring Japan on June 29 and June 30, 2018 and it looks like the company has its eyes set on yet another top international star.
Masami Odate, better known by her ring name Io Shirai, almost signed with WWE in summer 2017 with a deal on the table. However the World Wonder Ring Stardom star underwent medical evaluation and was diagnosed with neck injury. Although Shirai received medical clearance shortly after, WWE rescinded their offer. It looks like WWE now aims to draw the line to this unfinished business by finally bringing Shirai under their roof. It is to be noted that the Japanese wrestler had expressed her interest in giving WWE another try.
Io Shirai just dropped the Wonder of Stardom Title which has led to further speculations of the Wonder star being one step closer to finalizing a deal with WWE.
WWE is touring Japan soon. Io has interest. She just lost the title.

WWE kept Shirai from competing in the first-ever Mae Young Classic although that didn’t stop this young Japanese pro-wrestler from winning the World Wonder Ring Stardom’s top title, the World of Stardom Championship, which she would hold for over 15 months.
