From crushing WCW in the historic Monday Night Wars to monopolizing the entire pro wrestling industry, Vince McMahon has made WWE into the global phenomenon it is today.
Since purchasing Capitol Wrestling Co. from his father in 1982, Mr. McMahon has built his WWE empire ruthlessly and efficiently and established himself as a titan in the television and entertainment business. However, all good things must come to an end, and The Chairman’s visionary leadership is no exception to the rule.
For years, the WWE Universe has speculated as to who would take the reins of the company after Mr. McMahon rides off to the sunset. While many projected Shane McMahon and Paul “Triple H” Levesque as the frontrunners to the WWE throne, it appears that Stephanie McMahon could actually be the only individual worthy enough of becoming the CEO of the billion-dollar company.
On WWE The Bump, Triple H heaped praise on Stephanie and claimed that his wife is the WWE after Vince.
“Steph just gets this business. She’s one of the smartest people I know, She’s very instinctive and very much like Vince in that standpoint, She just feels it. One of the things I love about her is she has this huge heart as well. You see that with Conor’s Cure and initiatives within the company as Cheif Brand Officer.”
“Her, the heart side of what she does, of how she not only sees the business and the creative of the business, then the business side of the business. The give back piece of it as well. and what the company stands for. She for me is, when this is all said and done, if you take Vince out of the equation, Steph is the WWE, in every level. She is the family of it. She is the heart of it. She is the soul of it.”
The good news is, Vince McMahon isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, so there’s still plenty of time for WWE to figure out their worthy heir in due course.
