Tonight on SmackDown Live, Jeff Hardy will make his return to confront Randy Orton after the beatdown that he was handed a few weeks ago. Orton returned to WWE with a new attitude at Extreme Rules and has made Hardy the focus of his frustration in recent weeks, but this could finally be The Charismatic Enigma’s chance to gain some retribution.
According to Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer, which was reported by Cagesideseats, the plan is for Shinsuke Nakamura to defend his United States Championship in a triple threat match in Brooklyn next month against both Jeff Hardy and Randy Orton. Nakamura was the man who easily defeated Hardy at Extreme Rules earlier this month following a low blow and a Kinshasa but the feud seems to have turned into an issue between Hardy and Orton recently, which has cut the Japanese star out.

Hardy cashed in his rematch clause for the Championship a few weeks ago on SmackDown Live, but this match was interrupted by Orton when he attacked Hardy as he went for his Swanton Bomb, which surely would have won him his title back.
The report suggests that this match could be made as early as tonight on SmackDown Live, as Hardy makes his return, but since Nakamura isn’t currently part of the feud and wasn’t dragged into Orton’s promo concerning Hardy last week, it is unknown how this match will be made.
General Manager Paige has certainly made a difference on the blue brand ever since she was appointed her new position and once again it’s likely that she will step in and inform these three men of the upcoming collision at SummerSlam.
