Sometimes wrestling matches are made over championships, sometimes they are born just because two WWE Superstars don’t like each other.

The WWE has announced two more matches for TLC this December 16 at the SAP Center in San Jose, California. Elias vs. Bobby Lashley and Finn Balor vs. Drew McIntyre have been added to the TLC card.

While TLC is mostly known for “gimmick” or special matches where foreign objects such as tables, ladders, and chairs are legal, there has been no announcement yet as to what special stipulation these two matches might have. Right now they are being advertised as straight singles matches between superstars who have been clashing these past few weeks.

Both Elias and Finn Balor have been running afoul of acting Raw General Manager Baron Corbin recently. Lashley and McIntyre are nominally Corbin allies and have not objected to beating down on Elias and Balor both on Corbin’s behalf and because they seem to really not like Elias and Balor.

On the Raw after SummerSlam, Lashley and McIntyre teamed with Corbin against Strowman, Elias, and Balor. The match ended with Lashley and McIntyre beating on their opponents at Corbin’s behalf and injuring Strowman. Since then Lashley and McIntyre have been clashing with Balor and Elias which has cumulated in these matches at TLC.

Other matches that have been announced for TLC are:

  • Seth Rollins vs. Dean Ambrose for the WWE Intercontinental Championship
  • TLC match between Braun Strowman and Baron Corbin
  • WWE Raw Women’s Championship match between Ronda Rousey and Nia Jax
  • WWE Championship match between Daniel Bryan and AJ Styles
  • Triple Threat TLC match for the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship between Becky Lynch, Charlotte, and Asuka.
  • Finals of the Mixed Match Challenge
