Last night’s episode of AEW Dynamite saw Chris Jericho and Mike Tyson leave it all in the ring as a brawl broke out between the two veterans of their respective sports.
It was a brawl to end all brawls and one that didn’t include any social distancing but seemed to set up what would be a historic match between the two men some time down the line.
Jericho was seemingly still annoyed with Tyson from turning on him a decade ago on WWE Raw when he teamed with the boxing legend to take on DX.
Jericho brought this up in his promo on Dynamite and demanded an apology. Tyson obviously refused before shoving the former World Champion and a brawl between the two men then began with many AEW stars being forced to get in the middle of the two legends.
UFC Star Henry Cejudo was one of the men who was accompanying Mike Tyson to the ring as part of the segment and he decided to film the aftermath of the brawl backstage, which broke wrestling kayfabe completely.
As seen from the footage which was posted on the UFC Star’s Instagram, Jericho and Tyson are seen hanging out backstage and gossiping like friends after attempting to rip each other apart moments earlier. The video can still be found on the star’s stories on his Instagram account.
It’s unknown why this video was taken and shared, but since the two men could be set to face off in the future, this ruins the illusion that there is any kind of tension between them.
Of course, kayfabe in WWE was broken a long time ago and continues to be broken on a regular basis but AEW definitely won’t be impressed that someone that they invited on their show broke one of wrestling’s biggest rules.
