It could be considered one of the most criticized WWE matches in history when Goldberg took on The Undertaker in Saudi Arabia at Super ShowDown in June last year. The opening moments of the match saw Goldberg go headfirst into the ring post, which was the turning point of the match and it led to a number of shocking mistakes that could have cost either man dearly.
WWE is set to release The Last Ride on Sunday night following Money in the Bank, which is a tell-all documentary surrounding The Undertaker’s incredible career. As part of the latest teaser trailer for the release of the Network show, The Deadman revealed just how close he came to death at the hands of the WCW legend.
The former World Champion stated that he was just inches away from leaving his wife a widow when Goldberg picked him up to deliver a Jackhammer but both men fell and he almost landed clean on his neck.
“I was two inches away from making my wife a widow, and my kids fatherless.”
The former six-time World Champion is married to former Women’s Champion Michelle McCool and together the couple has a daughter called Faith who was born back in 2012. The Deadman also has two daughters with his second wife Sara and a son called Gunner from his first marriage to Jodi Lynn
It was said to have been a match that both men requested and one that Goldberg could have bowed out on, but because of how it went, The WCW star returned merely months later to face Dolph Ziggler at SummerSlam before later returning and becoming the Universal Champion.
Undertaker has also returned to WWE since the match and was able to defeat AJ Styles in the first-ever Boneyard Match at WrestleMania last month.
