AJ Styles has been struggling with an injury since WrestleMania when it was revealed that the former WWE Champion was injured in his match with Randy Orton.
Styles sustained a hip injury in the match, which is why Styles was missing from SmackDown Live this past week. PWInsider recently revealed that the tests that AJ had undergone yesterday showed that there was no bone injury to his hip, which is seen as positive news.
Styles reportedly injured his hip when he landed awkwardly from the Superplex spot, he was then having issues walking following the match which is why WWE opted to send him home. It is currently unknown how long Styles will be out of action for.
AJ Styles Comments On Lighting Botch From WrestleMania
AJ Styles’ match with Randy Orton at WrestleMania was hoped to be one of the ones that stole the show, given the fact that both men left it all in the ring throughout the build-up, but it didn’t deliver on the biggest stage of all.
This was partially down to the fact that the lights were pointed directly at the audience throughout the match which prevented many from being able to see the match properly.
Styles was obviously annoyed about this fact since the chanting throughout his match was obviously off-putting and the crowd was so distracted throughout that the two stars were unable to bring them back on board for the finish. Styles echoed these thoughts in a recent post on Twitter.
It is unknown as to whether or not Styles and Orton will remain on the same brand following the Superstar Shakeup, but both men should be given the chance to redo this match since a lighting error was the only reason why the WWE Universe wasn’t fully invested.
