Ember Moon has most recently been seen as a correspondent on WWE Backstage, after tearing her Achilles back in the fall of 2019.
The former NXT Women’s Champion suffered the injury while running after a number of other female wrestlers in order to become 24/7 Champion.
Earlier in the year, Moon revealed that she could have suffered a career-ending injury since the star is struggling to make it back to full fitness.
Moon recently revealed to Comic Book that she was fighting a second surgery in order to recover from the injury since she had actually torn her Achilles in two places.
“So I actually ruptured my Achilles in two places, and the surgeon thinks that I may have been wrestling on it for probably about two months already torn to some extent, and I just didn’t feel the pain because I have kind of a high pain tolerance.”
“I’m sitting here and I’m fighting a second surgery. I’m fighting against the second surgery. That’s how bad it is,” she said. When I went on Backstage and I said, ‘I don’t know if I’m ever going to wrestle again,’ I meant what I said and I, I stand by that.”
Moon had the ability to become Women’s Champion on the main roster, but this has been quite the setback for The War Goddess. Moon did finish the interview by stating that 2019 hadn’t been her year, but she remains optimistic.
