Neville hasn’t been seen on WWE TV since October just a week after he lost his Cruiserweight Championship to Enzo Amore. The British Superstar reportedly walked out of Raw last year because of frustrations with the company’s booking team and has since refused to return despite WWE holding talks with the former NXT Champion a number of times.
Neville moved back to the United Kingdom earlier this year which was one of the main factors in the rumors that suggest that he has no desire to return to the company in the future. The former Champion’s contract was said to have been frozen as WWE tried to negotiate a way for him to make his return.
Months have gone by since the last update from Neville, but Dave Meltzer brought up the topic of Neville’s contract status in the most recent episode of The Wrestling Observer and it appears that very little has changed, despite WWE pushing for him to return.
“Neville’s WWE contract is frozen. He’s back in England.” Meltzer stated as reported by Sportskeeda.
Given the changes to the 205 Live division over the past few months and the fact that there is a British star in charge of the show now, it was thought that this could entice Neville to return to the company. It seems that the writing was on the wall when Neville and his wife returned to the UK and even though the company was hoping that The British star would return, this isn’t something that is on the cards right now.
Neville himself hasn’t released a statement publicly since his departure, but it is reported that he will return under contract now until he is released from WWE, which will prevent him from working for any other promotion.
