Update On Plans For Asuka At SummerSlam

It could be argued that no wrestler in WWE has fared worse than Asuka since she lost her undefeated streak to Charlotte at WrestleMania back in April, The Empress of Tomorrow has since been stuck in a feud with SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte and lost back to back matches to The Princess of Staten Island.

James Ellsworth’s interference has cost Asuka the Women’s Championship at both Money in the Bank and Extreme Rules, but since he was fired on SmackDown Live a few weeks ago, the path to her first main roster Championship is clear once again.

Carmella is already defending her Championship in a triple threat match against the inaugural Champion Becky Lynch and former Champion Charlotte, but it’s being reported by CageSideSeats that Carmella will face off against Asuka tonight on SmackDown Live and will then be added to the match to make it a fatal four-way at SummerSlam.

It could be argued that since Asuka has been screwed out of the title twice already, she has a claim to want another shot at Carmella, but obviously, WWE is going to make her fight for her opportunity since SmackDown Live has always been seen as a show that gives their superstars fair chances.

Charlotte returned to WWE TV for the first time since Money in the Bank last week and has stepped into a Women’s Championship match and Asuka will be hoping that she can do the same tonight since it could be third time lucky for her at The Biggest Party of the Summer.

If Asuka wins the match tonight against Carmella is will also mean that The Champion has already lost to all of her challengers in one-on-one matches over the past few weeks.
