Dolph Ziggler is a former World Champion, but he has been struggling with a foot injury in recent weeks, which is why he was forced to miss Monday Night Raw this past week.
Ziggler has been part of the feud with Braun Strowman, Drew McIntyre and Baron Corbin, which is why it was strange that Bobby Lashley was called in to help write Strowman off WWE TV last week instead of Ziggler.
It was revealed following Raw that this was because Ziggler was dealing with a foot injury, even though the details of this injury weren’t discussed. The Showoff hasn’t worked any WWE events this week either, which means that it’s likely that WWE was allowing him to rest ahead of the final pay-per-view of the year.
Cagesideseats reported in their daily rumor roundup that Ziggler’s injury isn’t as bad as first feared and the former World Champion could make his return to the ring as early as tonight on Raw.
It is unknown how the feud between the Raw General Manager, McIntyre and Ziggler will be pushed forward without Braun Strowman present, but it appears that the company has some kind of plan to continue to build The Monster Among Men’s match until TLC: Tables. Ladders and Chairs, when he is expected to return.
Ziggler was part of Survivor Series last weekend when he helped Team Raw to victory in what became a landslide result for the red brand, which means that he’s only missed a week of action through this recent injury, and will now be rested and prepared to push forward into WWE’s final pay-per-view of the year in just over two weeks time.
