Alexa Bliss has been out of action ever since Hell in a Cell when she lost her Raw Women’s Championship rematch to Ronda Rousey. It wasn’t until a few days later that it was noted that The Goddess was struggling with weakness in her arm and WWE sent her to be evaluated.
Bliss was later cleared for action ahead of her match with Trish Stratus at Evolution, but merely weeks before the event took place, the former Women’s Champion was injured once again at a WWE Live Event which forced Alicia Fox to replace her at Evolution in what was then changed into a tag team match.
It’s been a rough few months for Bliss who has taken on the role of manager/ authority figure for the women of WWE and tonight on Monday Night Raw she has been given a new job as a talk show host, which will seemingly keep her occupied on TV for the next month.
According to an update from Bryan Alvarez on The Wrestling Observer, this new role is expected to keep Bliss on TV for the next few weeks leading up to Royal Rumble, where she could finally make her return.
“So I don’t know if this is still the case, but as of a couple of weeks ago I heard Alexa was not going to be wrestling again until the Rumble. So maybe this is a way to keep her on TV until then,” he said via RingsideNews.
CageSideSeats noted this morning that the plan could be for the Women’s Royal Rumble to once again main event the Royal Rumble which means that the company has to try and top what they presented earlier this year.
Whilst there are expected to be a number of shocking returns, it would be a feel good moment for the WWE Universe to see Alexa Bliss make her return to the ring even if it’s only for a few minutes.
