NXT superstar Velveteen Dream was hospitalized following a car accident on Friday (June 26).
The news was broken by Fightful yesterday evening. According to the report, Dream was involved in a car accident and was brought to the hospital, though he was released shortly after.
Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp Tweeted that WWE confirmed the reports of Dream’s accident and subsequent release from the hospital this morning.
No details regarding the nature of the accident, Dream’s injuries, and who else was involved have been released.
Even before this accident, Dream’s personal life has been subject to scrutiny recently. He was accused of inappropriate behavior with a minor in April and a few other allegations about Dream have surfaced as part of #SpeakingOut movement.
Neither Dream nor WWE has released an official statement regarding either his accident or the new allegations against him.
Dream was last seen on TV during NXT TakeOver: In Your House where he challenged and lost to the NXT Champion Adam Cole.
He was not present during the last episode of NXT on Wednesday though his storyline ally Dexter Lumis was there and seems to be continuing the program the duo started against the Undisputed ERA.
