NXT superstar Velveteen Dream landed in hot waters after allegations of him sending explicit content to minors came of light recently. The Dream is a rather active individual on social media and recently opened his DMs for the WWE Universe.
A fan alleged that Dream had sent her his nude pics, and posted screenshots of the whole conversation along with voice recording, which sounded quite like the former Tough Enough participant. Dream quickly denied these allegations and said that although those pictures were his, they were stolen and sent without consent.
Dream has employed a third-party agency to look into this situation, and more details will unravel in the coming weeks. However, Dream’s DMs are still open, although he has cut off interaction with the fans by turning off his comments on Instagram.
Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio noted that WWE hasn’t responded to these allegations in any fashion at this point. WWE doesn’t take such issues lightly, as Enzo Amore and Rich Swann were immediately shown the door after allegations of rape and assault came to light.
“It will be interesting to see if Velveteen Dream’s there or not. Everyone’s been completely quiet on that story, so I don’t know what that means.”
Dream is currently positioned as the next star in NXT and is possibly the next in line to take on Adam Cole’s NXT Championship. He pinned the champion last week and is surely bound to become the champion in the coming months.
However, these allegations could completely derail his momentum, and if anything substantial comes to light after the investigation, we could even see the Dream get fired from the company. WWE’s zero-tolerance policy will not allow him to continue, despite his enormous potential and a possible main-event run in the future on the main roster.
