Natalya was scheduled to face Alexa Bliss last night on RAW, but she was pulled from the match a few hours before the show went live after it was revealed that her father Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart had passed away at the age of 63.
It was revealed by WWE yesterday afternoon that the wrestling legend had sadly passed and the wrestling world has since been in a state of mourning.
Her friend Ronda Rousey delivered an impressive tribute last night at the start of the show before she decided that Ember Moon would be an appropriate replacement for Nattie to take on Bliss just six days before their Women’s Championship match at SummerSlam.
Natalya has been given compassionate leave following her father’s passing and it’s thought that she will also be missing SummerSlam and all of WWE’s upcoming live events over the next few weeks despite being a huge part of the storyline with Ronda Rousey over the past few weeks as she built towards her Raw Women’s Championship match.
Joe Peisich noted on Barnburners Fired Up Podcast earlier today that he thinks Natalya will return to Raw when it’s in Toronto in a few weeks time on August 27th since it’s unknown how she will fit back into the show.
“It will be interesting to see when Natalya comes back,” he said via Ringsidenews. I believe they’re going to give her this week off, maybe even next week and she’ll possibly return when Raw is in Toronto the following week August 27th I believe.”
Given the fact that Alicia Fox will probably be in Alexa’s corner at SummerSlam, it’s highly likely that Ember Moon will be by Ronda Rousey’s side instead.
