Why Was Brock Lesnar Promoted As SmackDown Live Superstar?
SmackDown is set to move over to FOX later in the year and recent advertisements promoting the switch have included Brock Lesnar as a SmackDown Live superstar.
These advertisements were promoted during a kickoff show panel before the recent NASCAR race on the Fox Network recently and have led to rumors that Lesnar could be one of the stars who is moved from Raw as part of the upcoming Superstar Shake-up.
Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer recently set the record straight when he stated that the advert was presented wrong and it all came down to miscommunication since the members of the panel were unfamiliar with WWE’s programming.
“It was not a WWE commercial but something said during a sports broadcast and it could be one of the anchors just figuring Lesnar would be there as the biggest star not knowing about the brand split or anything, or it could be he’ll appear on both brands or even just SmackDown after the draft,” he said via Ringsidenews.
Jim Ross Confirms Talks With All Elite Wrestling
WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross appeared on ESPN’s Outside The Lines program earlier today where he was able to confirm that he was in talks with All Elite Wrestling.
Interestingly, the former commentator’s contract with WWE hasn’t actually expired yet but it was previously reported that he has no plans to re-sign with WWE, which is why he is looking at other ventures at present.
“I don’t know, we’re talking, I just haven’t signed anything yet. My people and their people are doing their thing. The only agent I grew up knowing was a State Farm agent in Oklahoma, I got a real agent now, man. So, they’re working on it. I’d like to get into some voice-over work, I’d like to do some… I wouldn’t mind having a radio gig doing college football,” he said via LordsOfPain.net.
Ross’s WWE contract is set to expire on March 29th and he has already teased that there are a number of interesting things on the horizon for him.
“There [are] a lot of big things on the horizon. I’ll leave you with that. There [are] so many rumors out there, ‘this is going to happen,’ ‘that is going to happen.’ All I can tell you is this: I’m not keeping any secret. My contract with WWE is up at the end of March. What happens after that is not up to me entirely. It takes two to tango on any front you go to. “
“So, all I know is I’m not worried about any of it. I’m not worried about how to get my groceries in 2019. All is good. Life is good. It’s going to be an amazing year. Huge things on the horizon. I’ve got a feeling. I really believe that for all of us, and no better time in our lifetime to be a wrestling fan.”
