Powerhouse Will Hobbs was a guest on the AEW Unrestricted podcast recently, where he talked about his “history” with WWE before making a splash in AEW.
According to Hobbs, though he had been a known quantity in WWE, they had told him they had nothing for him – until he had started appearing in AEW TV.
Hobbs had wrestled a dark match for WWE and even had a tryout, but was told ‘we don’t have anything for you right now.” When he had begun appearing in AEW, that was the only time WWE called again, a fact he didn’t appreciate.
“The way I was raised, I don’t have time for that shit. I’m not ‘boo boo the fool’ as my Grandma would say. ‘Hey, we’ve been thinking about you and are interested in you.’ No, fuck you. I ain’t no sucka. I’d rather you tell me 100% no than try to BS me.”
Hobbs officially signed with AEW last September and he is now part of Team Taz, alongside Ricky Starks and Brian Cage. The three, along with their leader Taz, seem to be in a collision course with the legendary Sting and the current TNT Champion Darby Allin.
