WWE has brought the historic King Of The Ring tournament back this year with 16 Superstars, eight from RAW and SmackDown each, battling each other to earn the career-defining prize.

As previously reported, the reason why WWE decided to host the tournament strictly for 2019 is to push one particular Superstar by crowning him King at Clash Of Champions next month.

After a four-year hiatus, King Of The Ring officially made its grand return this week on Monday Night RAW. The action continued the following night on SmackDown Live.

For all these years, the legendary tournament has been exclusive to the men’s division in WWE, but now that the Women’s Division is at the forefront of the company – Evolution and WrestleMania 35 main event have successfully brought the female Superstars on par with the men – the women now rightfully deserve a similar tournament for themselves.

During a recent interview on KSFY Morning Show, SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley talked about the ongoing King Of The Ring tournament while making her intentions clear about a potential Queen Of The Ring contest.

“When you’re a fan like me who has watched for years, it was something that was taken away. It was like, ‘Dang. That was one of the coolest shows.’ There’s so much pressure on all the guys. There’s so much history to it. The fact that they brought it back is a dream come true for a lot of those guys.”

“We kinda want a Queen of the Ring. If you guys could make that happen, I would love that.”

The Women’s Revolution has raised the status of female Superstars in the industry and would reach yet another milestone when WWE officially introduces a similar King Queen Of The Ring tournament for the women.

With NXT moving to USA Network and SmackDown switching over to FOX, it won’t be long before the women’s division can boast of their very own Queen Of The Ring event series.
