Wrestlemania 34 Match Card, Six Confirmed Bouts Before Fastlane

With Wrestlemania 34 only a month away, WWE has started announcing matches that are scheduled to take place at the Grandest Stage Of Them All. With New Orleans being the host city for this year’s Wrestlemania, the Mercedes-Benz Superdome stands to witness several celebrations and heartbreaks that are to take place at the “Biggest Pay-Per-View Event In The History Of Sports Entertainment” on April 8, 2018.

According to the DailyStar, the following six matches have been confirmed for Wrestlemania 34 as of March 7, 2018:

 

1. Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship

After failing at Royal Rumble 2018, Roman Reigns clinched the victory at a highly anticipated Elimination Chamber Match to earn a shot for the WWE Universal Championship at Wrestlemania 34. These two decorated heavyweights have had an unfinished business ever since the main-event of Wrestlemania 31 when Seth Rollins cashed in his Money In The Bank briefcase and pinned Reigns to earn the now-defunct WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

 

2. Ronda Rousey & Kurt Angle vs. Stephanie McMahon & Triple H

The first UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion, Ronda Rousey who signed her WWE contract in front of the WWE Universe at Elimination Chamber, 2018 will be teaming up with the 1996 Olympic Gold Medallist, Kurt Angle to take on the duo of Monday Night RAW Commissioner, Stephanie McMahon and the COO of WWE, Triple H. The storyline for this Mixed Tag Team Match kicked off when Rousey put Triple H through a table during her contract signing at Elimination Chamber and got slapped by The Game’s wife, Stephanie McMahon.

 

3. AJ Styles vs. Shinsuke Nakamura for the WWE Championship

WWE Champion, AJ Styles is scheduled to defend his title against the Artist, Shinuke Nakamura who earned a shot at the Phenomenal One after emerging as the victor at this year’s Royal Rumble. However, Styles must retain his title at Fastlane in a Six-Pack Challenge against John Cena, Dolph Ziggler, Baron Corbin, Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens in order to ensure his Wrestlemania title defence match against Nakamura goes ahead.

 

4. Asuka vs. RAW or SmackDown Live Women’s Champion

The Empress of Tomorrow will walk into Wrestlemania with her undefeated streak to take on either the RAW or SmackDown Live Women’s Champion for the title. Asuka is the first ever Women’s Royal Rumble Winner that took place on January 28, 2018 and fans expect her to declare her challenge for either one of the championships in the coming weeks.

 

5. The Miz vs. Finn Balor vs. Seth Rollins in a Triple Threat Match for the Intercontinental Championship

Monday Night RAW General Manager, Kurt Angle announced on Monday that Miz will be defending his Intercontinental Championship at Wrestlemania against the First Ever WWE Universal Champion, Finn Balor and the Kingslayer, Seth Rollins. The Miz demanded to know his opponent for this year’s Wrestlemania after teaming up in a losing effort with the Miztourage against Finn Balor & Seth Rollins in a tag team handicap match and ended up getting more than he actually bargained for.

 

6. Cruiserweight Championship Tournament Final

In January, WWE released Enzo Amore for alleged sexual assault and vacated the throne of the Cruiserweight Champion.  The company soon announced a 16-Man tournament to determine the new Champion for the 205 Live brand. With the semi-finals in full swing, the tournament is scheduled to culminate at Wrestlemania 34 with two superstars battling it out in the finals to be crowned the new Cruiserweight Champion. This will be the second time that the Cruiserweight Division is booked for a match at Wrestlemania.

Noteworthy mention:  Wrestlemania XXX (Wrestlemania 30) also took place at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome where Daniel Bryan climaxed his fairytale journey to the WWE Championship.
