Becky Lynch had the last laugh as she was crowned double champion in the historic first-ever female main event at WrestleMania 35.
The Man battled Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair in a ‘Winner Takes All’ match with the RAW Women’s Championship and SmackDown Women’s Championship up for grabs.
The two (now former) champions made their entrances in grand fashion – The Rowdy One was played to the ring by a live performance from Joan Jett while The Queen arrived with flair in a helicopter, a homage to her father Ric Flair‘s iconic entrance from The Great American Bash in 1985.
The underdog Becky, simply walked out to her own music.
The match was on overdrive from the very beginning. The first blood was drawn when Rousey drove Becky to the corner and exchanged blows. The former RAW Women’s Champion soon cleared the ring and the action continued outside.
Deep into the lengthy match, all three women sported plenty of nearfalls with Rousey relatively taking the maximum damage. Once in a while, each of the three Superstars paired up to tackle the other lone warrior.
With Flair looking confident and the victory seemingly building up in her eyes, the tide was turned when The Queen was driven through the aligned table in the corner by a combined effort on part of Lynch and Rousey.
The finish came through when The Man reversed Rowdy’s Piper Pit into a cradle to score the pinfall, thus taking it all away from both champions.
Congratulations to Becky Lynch on becoming the new RAW and SmackDown Women’s Champion!
