WWE WrestleMania 36: Bianca Belair Debuts, Bayley Retains SmackDown Women’s Championship

WrestleMania is the perfect place to make a statement and even though this year’s show didn’t have an audience to garner any kind of natural reaction, the show was still full of shocks and surprises.

One of the biggest shocks came when Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins were able to retain their RAW Tag Team Championships against the make-shift team of Austin Theory and Angel Garza, a team that was created after Andrade was forced onto the sidelines due to injury.

Ford picked up the win for his team following a crossbody, but Theory and Garza weren’t happy with their loss and attacked the team following the bell, which allowed Zelina Vega to climb into the ring and include herself in the beatdown. This was a huge mistake on Vega’s behalf since Ford’s wife was waiting in the wings to make it clear that no one messes with her man.

Bianca Belair made her shock debut as part of this storyline and could now head to Monday Night RAW to become a part of this story alongside her husband.

Bayley was the only female Champion who was put into a multi-person match at this year’s show, and it was the only multi-person match on the card as she defended her Women’s Championship against Naomi, Tamina, Sasha Banks, and Lacey Evans.

The match came down to Evans, Banks and Bayley who have been feuding over the past few months, but while there was a tease that Banks was about to turn on her long-time friend, Evans was able to take out Banks with a Women’s Right and turn the match into one-on-one.

Just as Evans looked as though she could pick up her first main roster Championship, Banks returned and delivered a Back Stabber which was completely legal since the match was no disqualification. Bayley then hit her new finisher and covered Evans to retain her Championship and seemingly push forward the feud between the Champion and her long-time best friend The Boss.
