WrestleMania Match Plans Reportedly Changed, Trish And Lita’s Status For The Biggest Event Of The Year

WWE Changed Up Plans For Match At WrestleMania

WrestleMania 35 is already shaping up to be the kind of event that WWE would be proud of and while there are around 16 matches expected to take place on April 7th, there are a number of stars who have been forced to miss out because there is no room on the card.

According to a report by Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer, Andrade and Rey Mysterio were originally prepared to be part of the show but this is no longer the case.

Instead, it was announced on SmackDown Live that Mysterio would be facing Samoa Joe for the United States Championship at the biggest event of the year. This matchup is now expected to involve Mysterio’s son Dominik, someone who many of the WWE Universe are already familiar with, which will definitely make their showdown an interesting one.

“You know Rey and Andrade were booked for WrestleMania and why that changed I have no idea,” he said via Ringsidenews.

Will Trish Stratus And Lita Be At WrestleMania?

Trish Stratus and Lita haven’t been seen on WWE TV since Evolution back in 2018, where the two WWE Hall of Famers were able to defeat the team of Alexa Bliss and Mickie James.

Over the past few months, Bayley and Sasha Banks have pushed forward the idea of facing Trish and Lita for the Women’s Tag Team Championships at WrestleMania, but this doesn’t appear to be happening this year.

The Women’s Tag Team Championship match is now expected to be a multi-team match across both WWE brands and Dave Meltzer recently addressed their status for WrestleMania on The Wrestling Observer, where he noted that the two women aren’t expected to be there.

“I haven’t heard anything about Trish and Lita. Yeah, I can see why it would be a rumor. I kind of think it’s overkill at that point. I don’t think that you — I wouldn’t even want them if you — the who’s already going to be overloaded with people coming back. Beth Phoenix coming back is enough,” he said via Ringsidenews.
