Starting this week, WWE’s cruiserweight showcase, WWE 205 Live will be moving to a new time slot.
WWE 205 will be moving from its previous time slot of Tuesdays 10pm ET to Wednesdays 7pm ET. The move means, instead of broadcasting after SmackDown, WWE 205 Live will now be before NXT and the Mae Young Classic.
According to WWENetworkNews.com, the move will mean that WWE 205 Live will now kick off a three hour block of wrestling for at least the next two months before the Mae Young Classic ends with the finals happening during WWE Evolution.
The move from Tuesdays to Wednesday’s was officially confirmed by WWE 205 Live’s general manager Drake Maverick in a Tweet.

The Tweet also contains an embedded video where Maverick also announces the main event for the first WWE 205 Live’s first Wednesday show. During the upcoming show, current WWE Cruiserweight champion Cedric Alexander will be defending his title against Drew Gulak.
According to Wrestlinginc.com, there is a possibility that this change in schedule is merely temporary. The change is said to have been implemented in order to make room for the second season of the WWE Mixed Match challenge.
They point out that the 14 episodes of the Mixed Match challenge are slated to begin this Tuesday with a preshow at 9:50pm ET and the matches to take place at 10pm ET. This means that the Mixed Match challenge is in effect taking WWE 205 Live’s previous time-slot and further changes to the schedule could be in the offering when the Mixed Match challenge ends.
