Royal Rumble is now merely weeks away and whilst the WWE Universe is looking forward to the 30-man over-the-top-rope Royal Rumble match, where the winner will be given a Championship shot of their choice, it appears that WWE has something interesting planned for fans in attendance at Axxess.

WWE announced earlier today that the first ever Worlds Collide 15-man battle royal will take place on Saturday and a tournament that will continue on Sunday as part of Axxess and will include a mixture of superstars from NXT, NXT UK and 205 Live.

WWE then went on to explain what fans could expect from the two-day tournament on their official website:

“The WWE Worlds Collide Tournament, which will be taped for a WWE Network special, kicks off with a 15-Superstar Battle Royal on Saturday, Jan. 26, at the 8 a.m. session of Axxess. The order of elimination in the Battle Royal will then determine the First-Round Matches for a 15-Superstar, single-elimination tournament beginning later that session. The Battle Royal winner will receive a first-round bye.”

“The tournament will continue at Saturday’s second session of Axxess, taking place from 1-5 p.m., before concluding at the final Axxess session on Sunday, Jan. 27, from 8 a.m.-12 p.m. Featuring a veritable who’s who from all three brands.”

There are a number of huge names set to be part of the match including Adam Cole, Velveteen Dream, Keith Lee, Mark Andrews, Tyler Bate, Travis Banks, Cedric Alexander, Tony Nese, and TJP.

This will be the first taste that many of these stars will have of Royal Rumble weekend, and the winner of the tournament could well be given a place in the Royal Rumble match too.
