WWE Backstage Reveals Top 5 Matches Of 2019, 141 Title Changes Recorded Last Year

The New Year’s Eve episode of WWE Backstage didn’t feature CM Punk but still managed to offer some meaningful banters.

WWE officially announced the top 5 matches of 2019 on the FS1 show and the majority of the episode was spent running the top 5 matches of the past year.

Here’s the official list:

1. Kofi Kingston defeating Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania 35

2. Becky Lynch defeating Sasha Banks at Hell In A Cell 2019

3. Daniel Bryan defeating Samoa Joe, Kofi Kingston, AJ Styles, Jeff Hardy, and Randy Orton at Elimination Chamber 2019

4. Seth Rollins defeating AJ Styles – WWE Universal Title Match at Money In The Bank 2019

5. Andrade defeating Rey Mysterio from SmackDown on January 15

WWE had an eventful 2019 filled with title changes, injuries, Superstar releases, and fluctuating viewership ratings.

According to WWE Stats, the billion-dollar promotion had closed out the previous year with 141 title changes. The number sent out before the 24/7 Title change during the Fox New Year’s Eve Countdown special was 139.

It is to be noted that 83 of those 141 title changes were actually the WWE 24/7 Championship.
