Last night on Raw, Rey Mysterio made the shock announcement that his match against Seth Rollins next weekend as part of The Horror Show at Extreme Rules would see them battle it out in an “eye for an eye” match.

This match has never been seen in a WWE ring before and the rules were unknown when the former World Champion made the announcement.

WWE has decided to clarify the rules on its official website today, where the company confirmed that the winner will only be called when an eye has been removed.

“The Horror Show at Extreme Rules added a new level of terror as Rey Mysterio and Seth Rollins will meet in an Eye for an Eye Match. Mysterio teamed with Kevin Owens to defeat Rollins & Murphy for the right to choose the gory stipulation where a winner can only be determined by extracting the opponent’s eye.”

It is currently unknown how WWE will be able to make this a reality inside a WWE ring.

The only real option that the company has here is to make this another cinematic match and if Mysterio is completely blinded by The Monday Night Messiah then there is a reason for Dominick to make his in-ring debut at SummerSlam and for Mysterio to leave when his contract expires in October.
