It was reported by a number of online outlets earlier this week that former World Champion Rey Mysterio had signed a new two-year contract with WWE and could be set to return to the company before October 9th, which is when WWE2K19 is released, a game that Mysterio is a part of.

An update on his return from RingSideNews has recently revealed that WWE could be looking for Mysterio to appear at WWE Crown Jewel and interestingly United States Champion Shinsuke Nakamura could be his opponent.

Mysterio was reported to be making his return to WWE on September 24th which would give him enough time to set up a match with Nakamura in the coming weeks.

It is well known that Saudi Arabian officials have asked for a number of stars to be in attendance at the event and money is not an option, which could be why the likes of Shawn Michaels, Hulk Hogan, The Undertaker, Triple H, Kane, Brock Lesnar and now Rey Mysterio have all been linked to a return at the event.

Crown Jewel takes place on November 2nd, just days after WWE’s all-female pay-per-view since the women won’t be allowed to join the rest of the WWE roster in Saudi Arabia.

WWE does seem to be going all out for the show, which takes place in less than six weeks time and will see a number of legends make their return to the ring.

Mysterio has made a number of Indy appearances over the past few years and most recently at All In, which was created by former WWE star Cody Rhodes and The Young Bucks.

Many believed that All In was the final show that Mysterio had to appear before he would sign for WWE and now that he’s reported to have put pen to paper, he could return to the company at any time in the near future.
