WWE’s Senior Ringside Physician, Dr. Chris Amann, has received a dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
Amann revealed on both Twitter and Instagram that he had received his first dose of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine on Friday evening.
According to Amann, he “didn’t feel a thing” when vaccinated. He expressed his thanks to “health care workers, researchers, and organizations” who were working to bring the COVID-19 pandemic under control.
As Amann got the Moderna vaccine, he is due for a second shot in February. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has stated that the Moderna vaccine involves two shots received 28 days (or one month) apart.
Currently, healthcare workers such as Amann are being prioritized for COVID-19 vaccinations in the US. It is likely that others on WWE medical staff have, or will be, vaccinated as well.
The Moderna vaccine is said to be 94.1% effective in preventing COVID-19 infection in those who have taken the recommended two doses.
Dr. Amann has been part of WWE since 2009 and looks after main roster talent as well as NXT and developmental talent. His ability to look after talent was the subject of some disparaging remarks from CM Punk, which led Dr. Amann to file a defamation law against Punk and Colt Cabana which he lost in 2018.
