WWE has filed trademarks for two ring names with the United States Patent and Trademark Office this week.
One of the trademarks, “LA Night”, is believed to have something to do with one of WWE’s newest signees, the wrestler who was formerly known as Eli Drake.
Eli Drake is mostly known for his time in Impact and NWA. He debuted using the name “LA Knight” on NXT TakeOver: Vengence Day pre-show and had taped segments on NXT where he was shown signing his contract and stating that he had his eyes on those holding the NXT titles.
While the trademark filed on February 14 was “LA Night” without a “k”, it’s thought that it might just be a minor error, and it is indeed for Drake now know as “Knight”.
Meanwhile, the other trademark that WWE filed this week was for the name “Kevin Patrick”.
The trademark was filed with the USPTO on February 15 and entered into the trademark database as of February 18.
Unlike “LA Night”, it is unclear as to who the trademarked ring name is for. There is currently no known WWE talent or trainee who is going by that name or anything close to it.
