The women of WWE have been handed numerous chances to make history over the past few years, ever since The Women’s Revolution took grip of the main roster. Whilst the women have now stepped inside Hell in a Cell, been handed their own pay-per-view and even main evented one of WWE’s big four pay-per-views, there was still something missing.

Sasha Banks and Bayley have been pushing for Women’s Tag Team Championships over the past few months and even hinted that at WrestleMania they would love to face Trish Stratus and Lita.

As an early Christmas present to the WWE Universe, it was revealed on Christmas Eve that the women would finally be given Tag Team Championships.

Mr McMahon dressed up as Santa Claus to deliver three huge announcements on Monday Night Raw, one of these was the fact that the women of WWE will finally have another two Championship belts to fight over.

No specifics have been revealed as of yet since WWE only announced the titles a day ago, but according to Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer, the belts may not be open to all the women on the main roster.

“So, is this going to be one or two sets of belts for both brands or only for one?”

“If they only do one it’s probably going to be on RAW because RAW has more women on the roster and RAW’s three hours so that kinda makes SmackDown look weak, but that would hardly be the first time they’ve done that,” he said via Ringsidenews.

Only time will tell, but the Women’s Tag Team Championships are now expected to make an appearance in the coming weeks.
