WWE Hall of Famer Lita competes in her first WWE match in more than six years at Evolution next month when she takes on longtime rival Mickie James, but the former four-time Women’s Champion recently talked to Planeta Wrestling about her return to the ring and seemingly teased that this may be a one-off.
“If you follow WWE at all, I think the one thing that is consistent is: you never know. As a fan and as a performer, each time I go in I look at it as a mom as I’m happy with my chapter outside of wrestling,” Lita said via WrestlingInc. “But at the same time, every time I do go back, it feels like home and you just jump right back in.”
Lita was part of the first ever Women’s Royal Rumble earlier this year but hasn’t been in a WWE ring since many expected the former Women’s Champion to make her return as part of the show but now it appears that Lita could be hoping that the reaction of the WWE Universe on October 28th could lead to more matches.
“You go in with it being the idea of a one-time thing, but it’s likely and potentially that the excitement of it or the crowd’s response to it could turn it into something more than a one-off. Like my life in general, I just take it all as it comes. So, we’ll see.”
Lita is one of the biggest female wrestling legends that WWE has and since the company has been focused on pushing forward the Women’s Revolution over the past few years, Lita could easily slot into the women’s division moving forward.
