It was third time lucky for Sasha Banks who walked into Hell in a Cell looking for her first-ever victory inside the Cell. The Boss had been inside the structure on two occasions previously but was unable to notch up a victory.
Banks was part of the first-ever Women’s Hell in a Cell match back in 2016 and came up short against Charlotte Flair, before losing to Becky Lynch inside the cell last year.
Banks was hoping for a different outcome when she stepped into the ring against Bayley who was making her debut inside the structure.
After months of issues, Banks and Bayley finally came to blows tonight at Hell in a Cell and after a brutal match of kendo sticks and steel chairs, it was Banks who came out on top.
Bayley looked as though she could retain her Championship on numerous occasions when she decided to use weapons to her advantage, but in the end, it was Banks who locked in the Bank Statement around a chair which forced Bayley to tap.
The win is Sasha Banks’ first SmackDown Women’s Championship and allows The Boss to become a Grand Slam Champion for the first time.
